These German based artist rocked the place, their energy and keeping the crowd entertained needed no questioning. Influenced by reggae these guys have take on the scene by storm. The reaction from the audience said it all, as they sang along and danced.

This lyrical Empress is making a name for herself with a graceful stage presence and smooth sounds. Seeing her perform live at the Reggae Jam 2013 and the response from the audience, words can not begin to describe. Such an admirable woman with a bright future ahead of her. Jah9 also released  a new album called New Name, with the song Jah9-Mr Right. I'd say Jah9 is a must listen too.

Photos of the Africadays Vienna, Monday, 29.07.2013. Ghana Minstrel Choir, Fair & Sensibel Project, Ösibua, etc..

Venue was filled and the audience waiting to see him come on stage, Alpha Blondy drew a big crowd. Alpha Blondy, the Rasta of Cocody, was born Sedou Kone in Dimbokoro, Cote d'Ivoire, in 1953. Heavily influenced by the music of Bob Marley, Blondy considered himself a Rasta at an early age.

The "Barbecue Soccer Tournament" was organised by L´Amicale Bana Brazza Organise and the soccerteams were: "Schmetterling/Nigeria", "Icory Coast", "Cameroun" and "Congo". When I arrived the venue at Hopsagasse I was happy because this time around I had a young friend assisting me. My joy was short lived ...

A splurge of colour filled the streets of Vienna with a parade from the Nigerian Embassy to the Welt Museum Vienna. Even though I did not have the advantage of seeing what had taken place first hand, by what I have heard from those who had participated is that it was so much fun.

Our final day at Kasumama and I must admit that my expectations were far exceeded by what the festival had to offer. What a wonderful event, meeting ground for networking with business people, artist, performers, craftsmen and woman and the diverse amounts of people who had come ...

They say shake what your mama gave you and this is what was happening at Kasumama on the 5.07.2013. The festivities went on as usual but as soon as the sun was about to set, the place came to life with performances by Hot Water (South Africa) and Ghettoman and the Believers.

As the Festival goes on, it attracts even more visitors. I must say that even though it's my first time at the festival, I must admit that it's really been loads of fun. Even though the weather might be playing silly tricks on us, as they say the show must go on. The activities have been fun, markets, food, talks and lots more.

Kasumama, thirteen consecutive years and a great attendance even on the opening day of the festival. An African market, the fragrant scent of delicious African delicacies in the air and the sounding of drums which brought the whole atmosphere together for the festival visitors.
